About Leovincible:

Adam Woodsmith (aka Leovincible) is a self-taught, freelance artist.  The majority of his work includes themes based in horror, surrealism, and the macabre. He often showcases comedic elements as well. Leovincible works in an array of styles including cartoons, digital paintings, and “found footage” style photo editing. Leovincible is open for commissions and has worked on illustrations associated with role playing games, home-brewed monsters and original characters. Currently, he’s located in the Philadelphia area.

“When I was younger, I felt insecure, even paranoid, to display my own ideas in my art. I thought that I would be unappreciated or attacked in some way for expressing myself since so much of my artwork gravitated to darker themes or monsters. I felt like my personality and character were being judged in the wrong direction, even when I put a silly twist on something macabre.  In all honesty, I hadn’t gained the courage to draw and paint what I really wanted until I started following the work of other artists in the horror genre. Following that community de-stigmatized it for me, showing that just because something is scary or spooky does not mean that it is inherently immoral (or some might say, evil).  I gravitate towards horror because it’s a medium to explore my own fears and what makes me uncomfortable, then to express and address it head on.

I really like to understand what, in the back of your mind, makes something scary.  I love to create stories around bizarre things. Inspiration comes from what I see every day, I start with a basic concept and twist a story or character design around it. Like building a whole house around the kitchen sink. Sometimes that’s poking fun, sometimes that’s exploring the abyss or basic fear instincts. It also helps me sleep at night; I haven’t had a nightmare in years now.”

About the wife:

Sara-Jade Woodsmith, my wife, is also an artist. Although, she’s more all about plants and bugs and nature stuff. We compliment and balance each other.  She’s worked on album covers, kids’ books, D&D and other character drawing commissions.

She runs the website and any orders that go through here, so bother her if you need something other than a commission from me.
